The kindest way to start a GLP-1

The first week of a GLP-1 is mostly waiting. Your appetite quiets first. Then your relationship with food starts to soften. Then, sometime around day five, you notice you forgot to think about dinner.
We tell every Sela member the same thing: nothing about week one is supposed to feel dramatic. The kindest start is the one where you don't have to white-knuckle anything. The dose is small. The plan is small. The goal is just to learn what your body is telling you.
The most expensive part of weight loss is starting over. Start gently. Stay gently.
A few things help
- Front-load protein in the morning — thirty grams before ten.
- Drink a full glass of water before you eat anything.
- Don't overhaul your kitchen. Don't tell anyone yet if you don't want to.
- Let the medicine and the coach do the work in the background.
If you feel nauseous, it's almost always dose timing — not the drug itself. Move your injection night to the morning before a slow day. Eat smaller and more often. Skip the second coffee. Most people feel completely clear by day three of the second week.
We're here for the long curve, not the first week.
